“Eric, wait,” Steve said.

Eric barely turned, but the muscles in his arms and chest tensed. “Yes?”
“Don’t kid yourself by thinking Ava will ever let you between her legs. She won’t give herself to anyone she isn’t married to.” He reached forward toward her hair falling over Eric’s arm and down his side.
She flinched. Eric shifted her away from Steve’s looming touch. Steve was right. The old Ava wouldn’t give herself to anyone but her husband. But the new Ava wanted to experience an orgasm, which meant she wasn’t getting married to anyone that hadn’t accomplished that goal first.
“None of your concern,” Eric said, walking down the path to the sidewalk.
“Were you the one watching her?” Steve asked. “I know you’ve been gone for a few years, but now that you’re back…?” The question lingered in the air as he, seemingly, waited for an answer. She was smarter than he ever gave her credit. He had to have been the one watching her, or he would be furious and his eyes would show it, narrowing slightly, the edges creasing. She’d seen him hide his guilt too many times to miss the signs. He wasn’t angry at all. Eric was his deflection to make her insecure. She knew him too well.  “Are you going to stay a recluse like your grandfather, holed up in that house?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Eric tossed back at Steve.  He carried her across the street, up his driveway, and into the house through two wooden double doors on the side of the house. “I didn’t put those cameras in your apartment. But, I think you know that. My head of security, Nathan, is checking your apartment for leads on who installed them. He’s making a total sweep of the place. You’re not going back there.”
She slid down his warm, muscled body to her feet. She had a little more control, but he held her hand, supporting her. She still trembled from the confrontation, but a sense of safety filled her inside his house. Staying really wasn’t an option, no matter how safe he made her feel. “I’ll stay in a hotel tonight.”
He held her hand and led her through the dimly lit home filled with priceless antiques and into the kitchen. “Stay here. There is plenty of room. I’m rarely home. In fact, this is the longest stretch I’ve been around in years.”

About the Book

Title: Timeshaft
Author: Stewart Bint
Genre: Time Travel
By the twenty-seventh century, mankind has finally mastered time travel—and is driving recklessly towards wiping itself out. The guerilla environmentalist group WorldSave, with its chief operative Ashday’s Child, uses the Timeshaft to correct mistakes of the past in an effort to extend the life of the planet.
But the enigmatic Ashday’s Child has his own destiny to accomplish, and will do whatever it takes within a complicated web of paradoxes to do so. While his destiny—and very existence—is challenged from the beginning to the end of time, he must collect the key players through the ages to create the very Timeshaft itself.
“Do our actions as time travellers change what would otherwise have happened, or is everything already laid down in a predetermined plan?” he asks. Stewart Bint’s Timeshaft is an expertly synchronized saga of time travel, the irresistible force of destiny, and the responsibility of mankind as rulers of the world.

I didn’t torture the nurses or tell them my thoughts on the fact that they didn’t let me sleep through the night.  The bed had been more comfortable than my cot in the jail, but I had slept better in the jail.  Now it was morning and Michael was booting up a computer and a projection screen.  The nurses had been warned not to interrupt for a while.
The screen flickered just once as the video began.  It was dark, but the clearing was bathed in an ominous glow.  There were three halogen lights, on poles, set up in the snow, pointing towards the victim.
They bathed the victim in an eerie and surreal light.  Making her seem even more horrifically posed.  Her lack of movement and skin showed that she was already dead.  Our killer was standing with his back to us.  He had a cigar in one gloved hand.  A mask covered his head, covering his hair and skin.  At his thigh was what appeared to be a large filet knife.  Xavier took a deep breath, loud enough for us all to hear.
The killer walked over to a large duffle bag on the ground.  Out came a large bottle of Pine-Sol.  He used a remote and the winch began to lower the victim.  Her head was only a few inches from the ground when he stopped it.  He flicked ash onto the ground and stared at the spot below her head.
He went back to his bag and pulled out something that looked like a tarp but crinkled like plastic.  He set it on the ground under the victim, covering the cigar ash.  He stood up and began pouring the Pine-Sol on the victim.  It ran down from her feet, coating her body in the oily, smelly stuff.  He stood for another several minutes and finished his cigar.
He stubbed it out on his Pine-Sol soaked glove and put it in his pocket.  He checked the area and picked up any ash that had fallen.  Then he rolled the black thing up carefully.  The winch motor began again.  It whirred and hummed as it pulled the victim to his desired height.  She now towered over him.
The body in place, he went to the spike in the ground and tied the cable up.  Once tied, he cut it.  He walked to his winch and wrestled it from the hard, frozen ground.  Something popped on the tape.  He looked up, noticed something, tossed the winch onto the black thing, picked them both up and left.  There was no motion for several minutes.
Then the reporter came into frame.  She picked up the halogen lights.  I nearly yelled at the TV.

Author Bio

Hadena James began writing at the age of eight. By the time she graduated high school, she had published a couple of short stories in literary magazines. She completed writing her first novel at seventeen. Hadena began college as an English major, but quickly changed to a history major. However, she continued to write and took several extra classes in creative writing.
College showed her that while she could write short stories, novel writing was truly where her heart lay. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in European History with minors in German and Russian Studies. During this time, she received a couple of contract offers from publishing houses, but ultimately turned them all down.
In August 2012, she self-published her first novel. In retrospect, she is appreciative of the contracts offers she received when she was younger, but believes she made the right decision with self-publishing.
When she isn’t busy writing, Hadena enjoys playing in a steel-tip dart league. She loves to travel throughout North America and Europe. Her favorite cities to visit are Chicago, Illinois and Berlin, Germany. She is an avid reader, with her favorites being classic literature; Edgar Allen Poe, HP Lovecraft, Gaston LeRoux, and Jane Austen; modern favorites include Clive Barker, James Patterson, Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams. Her favorite book is “Good Omens” by Neil Gaimen and Terry Pratchett. She writes all of her books while listening to music and the bands tend to get “honorable mentions” within the pages. Some of her favorite bands are Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Rammstein, U2, Marilyn Manson, Oomph!, and Rob Zombie.

Perhaps no one had  told her and she was unaware of the schedule. That must be it. I was the recipient of a little stroke of luck.   I might now take my time and capture this little creature. The thought made me feel very comfortable.  I, who had never been an exceptionally lucky individual, was going to be the lucky winner of Miss Brevist. I smiled as I approached her (I must admit that the load was rather cumbersome). Little did she know that another bus was leaving at eight-thirty!
She waved to me. Apparently she had gotten a taxi. Then I noticed something in her hand. It was in the hand which was waving. There in her hand grasped securely, was a bus schedule. She had a bus schedule. She must have known about the eight thirty bus all along.
My mind became confused. She knew about the bus schedule and yet she told me that the next bus would not be coming until two in the morning. She must have known that I would suggest staying at a hotel. Yes, that was it! I came to this marvel of deductive reasoning just as we were getting into the taxi.
That was it: she was picking me up!

“So tell me,” Jocelyn said to Knox. “About your case.”
Knox cleared his throat as if he were about to address a room full of people. “The victim was Sydney Adams. She was seventeen years old, a track and field star for Franklin West High School. She was a senior there.”
“The charter school over by Drexel University?” Anita asked. “The one where they had that shooting in 2006?”
“Yeah, that one,” Knox answered. “Sydney was only a month or so from graduating. She left her grandmother’s house around seven in the evening for her nightly run through Fairmount Park. She always ran the same route. She didn’t get very far that night, so I think she was killed close to seven-thirty, although I was never able to get the medical examiner to say so. He would only give us a four-hour range. He said Syd died sometime between seven and eleven.”
“Where in the park?” Jocelyn asked. Fairmount Park was really a collection of outdoor parks that covered over 9,000 acres in the city.
“She started her run around the athletic field on Boxer’s Trail. Not too far from her house.”
                 “She lived in Strawberry Mansion?”
“Yeah, over by 31st and Dauphin. Anyway, she was shot in the back three times at close range. There was a bullet lodged in the tree, so there were four shots in all. .22s. There were no shell casings, so we think the killer picked them up and took them.”

Book Excerpt The Productivity Book

Book Excerpt

CONCLUSION

Since the questions we asked opened a window into a day in the life of a productivity expert, we wanted our final conclusion to reflect this. So, here’s our summary of what a productive day should look like.

The perfect day starts the night before. Outline your goals. Whether this is a simple to-do list or time blocking, make sure tomorrow’s objectives are clear. Then sleep on it.

Everyone needs a different amount of sleep. Know what works for you and structure your schedule around that. Nearly all of our experts cited adequate rest as essential to maintaining productivity.

Wake up bright and early. Leave enough time to spend at least an hour and a half preparing for the day. Whether it’s reading, yoga, Pilates, running or simply thinking. Follow this with a healthy breakfast and you’re good to go.
Get to work. Now that you’ve prepared mentally, it’s time to take on the day. This period is when you’re at your most productive, so use it wisely. Let the calls go to voicemail, put your cellphone on silent and don’t answer emails. Emails are rarely worth your most energized and motivated moments. Unless it’s a creative meeting, don’t take it.

If you need time constraints, use a timer! Or the Pomodoro Technique.
Once you’re into the afternoon, time block to focus on admin and less important tasks like responding to emails and taking meetings. This will stop you from getting distracted and help you to focus on one thing at a time.

Because your brain is slower, this is the best part of the day to incorporate technology. So, start up your favorite tried and tested apps and use them to help you take notes, see your reminders, book appointments and whatever else is important. And remember, saying “no” can be more productive than “yes”.

By this point, you should have had a highly productive day. So, use the evening to relax with friends or family. But remember: A little planning the night before can go a long way toward having a successful, fulfilling tomorrow.

Book Excerpt A Hard Days Night

2/14/2016

Picture
 Book Excerpt
Maxwell and Abbey looked down from the rafters and watched the frantic female fans running this way and that. Abbey imagined what might happen if the gaggle of groupies spotted them. “What would they do to me? Ignore me? Beat me up? Shove me aside? Stomp on me with their heels? I can see myself on the cover of The National Enquirer—face gashed, two black eyes, disheveled hair with a stunned, wide-eyed look on my face. The headline: ’Unknown Woman Nearly Killed in Mob of Mad Maxwell Groupies.’ The photo caption: ’Mystery woman nearly left for dead after a backstage stampede of frantic women chased Maxwell.’ And ’She was way out of her league,’ commented one busty blonde.”
Abbey looked around at their precarious perch. The catwalk hung in open space above the stage like a strand of a spider’s web. “We’re so exposed!” she thought.
She whispered to Maxwell, “They’ll easily see us if they look up!” She shuddered at the thought of it.
Maxwell shook his head confidently. “Those stage lights over there are shining down on them. If they look up, the glare will blind them. And anyway, we’re in the shadows.” He smiled.
“He is so confident!” Abbey thought. “He just exudes it. I’ve never been in the presence of anyone so confident.” And then as an afterthought, “It’s so sexy!”
They sat quietly together as the gals skittered this way and that below them. Their breath slowed.
Abbey felt as though she were in a movie…A series of black-and-white images flashed through her mind…crowds of girls running…screaming…rock stars running for their lives. She turned her head just as Maxwell turned toward her…and simultaneously they both whispered, “A Hard Day’s Night!” And they nearly fell over laughing—and tried to muffle the sound with their hands clapped tightly over their mouths.
They huddled together in the dark, waiting out the storm. They looked at each other and grinned. The silence stretched on, and Abbey felt surprisingly at ease. Well, it was an ease with an undercurrent of electricity.
She didn’t want to ask. She thought, “I don’t want to appear insecure.” But she couldn’t help herself. She turned toward him and whispered, “Why me?”

About the Book

Title: A Hard Days Night
Authors: Anastasia Winters and Greg Godek
Genre: Romance
A HARD DAYS NIGHT
A good girl from Iowa.
A bad boy rock star.
An unlikely love affair.
“A Hard Days Night” is the first in a series of erotic romances from the only male-female writing team in the world of romances. Bestselling expert of non-fiction romantic advice Greg Godek (“1001 Ways to be Romantic”) joins newbie writer and quiet-but-naughty recluse Anastasia Winters to create erotic romances that are sexy, sassy and classy.
(“A Hard Days Night” is NOT about The Beatles, but it IS a rock ’n roll romance!)
Freelance writer and aspiring romance novelist Abbey has a quiet, satisfying life with a loving, lovable, gentle boyfriend. Her one passion is the music of bad boy rock star Maxwell.
The power and poetry of his songs resonate deeply with Abbey. She had fallen for him (“Um, for his music!” she insists) ten years ago, when she was just seventeen. And nothing had changed in the intervening ten years. Abbey and Maxwell had a unique relationship. One that he was totally unaware of.
One day Abbey receives an unexpected gift that brings her face-to-face with the man of her dreams…Maxwell. He has everything a man could desire: Fame, fortune, success and access to as many beautiful/sexy women as he could possibly want—yet something was missing from his life.
Can a bad boy rock star fall in love with a good girl from Iowa? Can they overcome the obstacles and people that would keep them apart? Can two people from opposite sides of life come together and stay together?
SPOILER ALERT! — (This paragraph only!) This book has chase scenes! Intimate conversations! Funny banter! A love triangle! A damaged hero who is masculine yet sensitive (songwriter/poet). A heroine caught between the safe-and-comfortable and the dangerous/passionate. And plot twists like one character with amnesia, and other with deep scars—both emotional scars and physical scars!
Read “A Hard Days Night” and find yourself falling in love all over again.
Mature readers only. Ooo-la-la! This novel is as erotic as it is romantic. It’s a perfect balance written by a unique male-female writing team. Watch for more erotic romances that are sexy, sassy and classy!
Author BiosAnastasia WintersI’ve been a writer of romances for twenty-nine years, but an author (meaning published) for, um, one month. I wrote my first romance in First Grade (“The True Story of Cinderella and Anastasia”), then wrote about a million pages of an unknown number of romance stories before I (and my writing partner) penned A Hard Days Night--this, my first published romance novel. OMG!
Somehow it turned out to be an erotic romance, so please don’t tell my mother.
But I do have my mother to thank for introducing me (unbeknownst to her) to the wondrous world of romances. I somehow stumbled upon her copy of Love’s Wild Desire--Jennifer Blake’s 406-page exploration of unbidden ecstasy—in the back of her closet, behind the shoeboxes, under the magazines—when I was eight. I didn’t know what was going on most of the time in that novel, but I did know that I was intrigued, baffled and thoroughly hooked (I didn’t yet know what it meant to be “turned on”!) I spent the next sixteen years as a closet reader of romances. Sixteen years! My English professors and my fellow students would have been aghast if they had known I read those “trashy” books. It was my guilty pleasure.
I came out when I was twenty-four. (I happened to watch the films The Bridges of Madison County and The Notebook within two days of each other), and—in a blinding flash of the obvious—I realized that these tremendous romances had managed to cross over into the mainstream of American culture. My insight: Romances didn’t deserve to be labeled as “trashy”! It’s then that I went public. And despite my trepidation the world didn’t end, my cat didn’t leave me, and my reputation suffered not at all.) So there you go.
I still can’t believe that I’m the writing partner of Greg Godek. (He’s a bestseller! He’s been on Oprah! OMG!) He and I have an amazing working relationship, and as a male-female writing team we seem to be nearly unique.
I have a pretty good imagination, but I can’t imagine you’d want to read any more about me at this point. How about if, instead, you read my next romance novel. And the next and the next and the next and the next. Just a thought.
Greg GodekI’ve been writing relationship books (advice for real life romances) for twenty years, and writing romances for a three. Back in the roaring 90s I wrote and published 1001 Ways to be Romantic. The stars must have been aligned because I sold three million copies. Somewhere along the line I lost my mind and decided it was a good idea to undertake the biggest booksigning tour in the history of publishing: Two years spent criss-crossing America aboard a custom 36-foot RV, visiting 43 states and 189 bookstores.
Along the way I was invited to appear on Oprah, Donahue, The Today Show and Good Morning America; my advice and antics have appeared in The Sunday New York Times, The Boston Globe, Cosmo, Playboy, Reader’s Digest and (honest to god) The National Enquirer.
The genesis of 1001 Ways to be Romantic is too long a story to relate here, but the highlights are…teaching romance seminars for ten years before sitting down to write the book…and a longstanding fascination with the complex relationship between fictional romance and real life romance.
I feel honored to be welcomed into the community of romance writers. As one of the few males in the sorority I’m both an insider and an outsider, and I’m experiencing what it’s like to be a minority. (Hmmm, sounds like the plot for a romance novel!)
I’m also lucky to have met my co-author Anastasia Winters. (Now that’s a crazy story! For another time.) Anastasia and I are currently writing the sequels to A Hard Days Night and we’re toying with ideas for some erotic romance for men. Look out below!

About the Book

Grim Fate coverTitle: Grim Fate (Grimly Ever After Series Book 2)

Author: S.L. Bynum

Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

After achieving the impossible by saving her boyfriend, Shilah, from Death, Xia learned she is to become the next Angel of Death. Luckily she has years before she must accept her new position, so there’s still time for her to be with Shilah without interruption…that is, until the current Death begins training her. As she learns more about her upcoming responsibilities, she realizes a future with Shilah might be difficult, especially when a tragic event nearly tears them apart. After they get through it, they end up closer than ever and become more physically intimate with each other, leading Xia to terrifying new heights and making her wonder how far a grim reaper can go with a human being.

During one of her training sessions with Death, Xia meets the other Three Horsemen: Pestilence, War, and Famine. They feel she isn’t worthy of the title “Death”, and she wonders if they’re right. However, if she can’t fulfill her duty as the new Angel of Death, the consequences for the world of the living will be dire.

In Grim Fate, the second novel of the Grimly Ever After trilogy, S. L. Bynum continues the love story of Xia and Shilah, filled with more stakes and tension than before…and delivers another shocking ending that will change everything.

Please tell us about yourself.

I happily retired from the day job to write full time.  I live in Western Washington with my toy poodle, Penny.  When I'm not writing or doing writing related activities you can find me reading. I love to travel and going to conferences to meet my readers.

Tell us about your book.

Bound & Teased is a committed menage story, where my heroine, Katie, returns home after living in New York for eight years. Ry and Jed, have never stopped loving Katie and now that she's back, they're going to do everything they can to keep her in their lives and make her happy.

What inspired you to write Bound & Teased?

I had an idea for a book, and then as I was working the plot out, I realized it was going to be a committed menage book.  The book itself was a challenge for me to write as I've never written a book like it, especially when the two hero's decide they were going to have a relationship. Yes, they decided, it's one of those times as an writer you listen to your characters when they talk.

How much time per week do you spend writing / editing your work?

Anywhere between 10-20 hours per week.

What are you working on at the moment?

I'm working on a new erotic romance for The Wild Rose Press to be part of their Real Men Wear Kilts series.  My story is tentatively titled: Highland Dom.  My hero is Scottish and has just returned from a trip from Scotland, before he left the heroine kissed him and asked him to tie her up.  Now that he's back, he ready to find out if she's really interested in him tying her up, and having a relationship.

About the Book

Title: Bound & Teased
Author: Marie Tuhart
Genre: Erotic Romance
Eight years ago, a naive Katie Crane ran from Ry and Jed, warned their brand of love would ruin her life. Now she’s all grown up and returning home with a better understanding of the BDSM lifestyle. After the betrayal she’s faced at her father’s hands, she worries she won’t be strong enough to submit to the men she gave her heart and virginity to at eighteen.
Jed Malloy and Ry McCade are surprised and thrilled by Katie’s return to Felton’s Creek. They’d been heartbroken after her departure and had turned to each other, embracing the BDSM lifestyle without her. Katie’s homecoming sparks hope and worry. Ry isn’t sure he can keep his dominant side under control, and Jed fears Katie will see him as less of a man by being a switch and Ry’s submissive.
Having Katie back could mean the beginning of everything   they’ve ever wanted or the end to the only family they’ve ever known

Author Bio

Marie Tuhart can’t remember a time when she didn’t have a book in her hands. A voracious reader since childhood, she began writing at 19, and in 1994 decided to join RWA and get serious about publishing. When she isn’t reading or writing, Marie loves to spend time in bookstores. A world traveler, she enjoys searching out corners of the globe she hasn’t experienced yet. While still totally open to finding her own tall, dark and handsome, she is certainly enjoying the journey.
