I'm interviewing Linda James today, author of non-fiction "Seachange @ Work". I hope you enjoy the interview.

Please tell us about yourself.

I was born in England, moved to Toronto Canada and then to live in the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia.  I have had a variety of management roles, but mainly in corporate finance.  I loved the excitement and variety that my management roles provided, but felt that something was missing.  In 1997 I picked up a college timetable at the Mind Body Spirit Expo, and was drawn to a page on Energy Healing.  Regardless of the fact that I did not know what Energy Healing was, had no intension of doing a course and had never heard of the college, which was not on my train route, I enrolled on the Monday morning and started the course the following evening.  It was a life transforming decision.  I had found my passion. What followed was a variety of different courses that provided me with new skills and a realisation that there was a different way of living and a different way of relating to the people around me.

Tell us about your book
. - What inspired you to write Seachange @ Work?

In Seachange @ Work I bring ancient wisdom and energy techniques into the modern workplace to enable workers to have more personal energy in their working day and create a more supportive work environment.

My own experiences in the business world had a big influence in writing the book.  I was still working in the corporate world while studying energy healing and began to incorporate the concepts into my working day.  After I left the corporate world to teach, write, and see clients as an energy healer, counsellor and life coach, I introduced the many concepts and techniques to my clients who were struggling with the many challenges of the business world, and in need of more personal energy.  Based on the results and the positive feedback, I wanted to share the creative ways to achieve an energised day with more people.  My book seemed to be a natural progression.

How much time per week do you spend writing/editing your work
?

About two days a week, but this depends on my teaching commitments.

What are you working on at the moment?

I am converting one of my courses on passion and purpose into an e-book.  Next major book is on intuition in the modern workplace.
